Good to know that there is someone who likes George R R Martin’s fantasy series, “A Song of Fire and Ice”. 🙂
Haha! You read his series too? Great! I do wish he finishes the series soon though. Its taking rather long and there is always the danger of unforeseen circumstances, like what happened to David Gemell.:(
My feeling is that he will finish the series. I have heard rumours that they have planned to do a TV series on the book, with each book for one season. That will be good.
Indeed, though if certain scenes are in it then i guess they would have a hard time passing our “conservative” asian censors eh:P? Anyway I am also looking for the series on Rome which was shown on HBO. Do you know where i might find the series?
Is sad that David Gemell passed away at the verge of a new triumph – I felt that the Troy books was a big step up after a series of rather bland writing. Although the wife have undertaken to complete the trilogy with the notes left behind, I wonder if she will manage to do the series justice.
A game of thrones and a storm of swords rank amongst my favourite books, but I found a feast of crows relatively disappointing. And it have been a long wait for a dance of dragons – which was supposedly almost done when Martin split the books.
Actually AC, perhaps you can check out this website if you have not already. There are those who say Feast was disappointing, but i felt that it was more of a book which would set up events in the next book. http://asoiaf.westeros.org/
George R.R. Martin is a great writer, and I *love* his ongoing ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series. I really hope too he finishes the series before anything ‘unforeseen’ happens like it did with Frank Herbert when he was writing the Dune series….
By the way, I can highly recommend The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb, if you haven’t already read it. Let’s hope a Dance of Dragons will be releases sometime soon, I can’t wait to know how things will develop.
I too found a Feast of Crows a bit disappointing and uneventful… but it won’t keep me from reading the rest of the series!
It’s good to see that there’ll be people queuing up along with me when ADwD is finally released.
I suppose you post on the ASOIAF forums quite a lot?
Oh I used to read the forum… posted very little though…
happened to see you on sgblogs! I just finished book 2. i have to say if you don’t pay attention it’s easy to get lost!
